Nestled among the Lowcountry’s wetlands and forest areas, Wescott Park spans 50 acres, with 23 acres situated on high ground. This public park offers much-needed open space for the residents and visitors of North Charleston. It features both open and enclosed picnic shelters and a large baseball complex with three fields that support the Dixie League baseball program. At the heart of the park is the 3,000 SF core building, which houses concession stands, restroom facilities, umpire locker rooms, storage areas, a first aid room, and offices. The second floor contains a scorer’s booth with panoramic views of all three baseball fields. GBA was responsible for the design of the core building, picnic shelters (both large and small), information kiosks, a 3,500 SF maintenance building, and additional restroom facilities, contributing to the park’s functionality and accessibility.
