The new Charleston Animal Society center is a state-of-the-art facility focused on cleanliness, durability, and the well-being of both animals and visitors. The building incorporates high-performance materials to ensure long-term cleanliness and durability. Aluminum and glass doors prevent rust and enhance visibility for safety, while industrial-grade epoxy paint withstands decades of scrubbing and scratching. Stained concrete floors provide a durable, easy-to-clean surface that supports daily sanitation efforts. Designed with animal health in mind, the facility features a carefully planned layout that separates healthy, sick, and quarantined animals, minimizing the risk of disease transmission. A specialized HVAC system refreshes indoor air 12-14 times per hour, while a segmented drainage system prevents cross-contamination during cleaning. The center is entirely indoor-based, ensuring a controlled and secure environment for the animals. The design also prioritizes comfort and a welcoming atmosphere for both animals and visitors. Large windows and glass doors allow natural light to fill the space, reducing stress and creating a warm environment. Thoughtfully designed meet-and-greet rooms provide a private space for potential pet adoptions, while an intuitive floor plan ensures easy navigation for guests. Additionally, the HVAC system effectively eliminates odors, maintaining a fresh and inviting experience throughout the facility. This cutting-edge facility reflects Charleston Animal Society’s commitment to providing top-tier animal care while fostering a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for pets and the community.
