hALLIE HILL ANIMAL SANCTUARY
THE CATTERY
Client: Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary
Location: Hollywood, SC
Size: 5,230 SF
-
The project entails the new construction of a 5,230 sqft Cattery building designed for the housing and rehabilitation of rescued felines. The building resides on the wooded, rural, Edenic Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary campus (alongside existing veterinary facilities, buildings designed for the housing of rescued canines, and administrative offices). The architecture of the Cattery is inspired by the traditional Lowcountry style. The building's facade is clad in board & batten siding; the building's roof is finished with asphalt shingles. A covered porch wraps around the main-entry facade. The building's occupants - some 60-90 rescued cats - are housed in indoor/outdoor enclosures, where they are free to enjoy the natural landscape in 4-sided screened-in patios, or escape the heat in connected conditioned rooms.
