For years, many sought to demolish this historic 1845 corner store, but GBA partnered with a visionary owner determined to preserve its legacy. Through close collaboration with preservation groups and skilled local craftsmen, we meticulously restored this architectural gem, transforming it into a vibrant ground-floor restaurant with two beautifully designed apartment units above, each featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

At GBA, we take immense pride in reviving a structure that was on the brink of collapse due to years of neglect. With no detailed records available beyond Sanborn maps and the remnants hidden beneath faux stone stucco, we conducted extensive research on neighboring buildings to guide our restoration efforts. The result is a stunning revival that seamlessly integrates into the streetscape of Rutledge Avenue and Doughty Street, reaffirming the building’s historical significance and craftsmanship.
