The senior center, similar to Dorchester road, was developing to continue supporting the evolving needs of the city’s growing senior population in North Charleston. The facility features similar uses - a flexible-use great room, library, or communal sitting area, fitness room, an exercise studio, and a warm-water swimming pool for therapeutic and recreational use. Multi-purpose activity rooms accommodate a variety of programs, such as ceramics, woodworking, and fine arts, fostering creativity and engagement. Designed with a focus on dignity, independence, and well-being, the center provides a welcoming environment that encourages an active and fulfilling lifestyle. The exterior architecture continues to reflects a modern interpretation of Lowcountry design. Thoughtfully placed windows and doors allow natural light to permeate the interior while providing serene views of the surrounding landscape. This project embodies GBA, Inc.’s commitment to creating spaces that enhance quality of life and foster community connections.
